Courtney Swars
Courtney Swars is a USDF Bronze and Silver medalist and USEA competitor. She is currently on her way to earning her Gold medal aboard her self-trained FEI horse, See Spot Run.

Courtney has been an equine professional for 10+ years, getting her start as a beginning riding instructor at Reddemeade farm in Silver Spring, MD. Eventually, she taught to the highest level within their program while attending the University of Maryland for a dual degree in Secondary Science Education and Agriculture Science & Technology. Upon graduating college, Courtney decided to pursue an equestrian career, and started on with Jaclyn Sicoli at Peace of Mind Dressage as her working student in September 2015.
Courtney and her own horse, Pig, a 2005 Friesian/Appaloosa, are now competing at Intermediate 1. They have also evented through Novice Level together. Courtney has developed many clients and horses up through 2nd level dressage and beginner novice eventing, but she finds the most joy from helping riders with confidence issues and horses with behavioral issues to enjoy the ride again. Courtney has a patient, pressure free teaching style with an emphasis on correct balance and communication between horse and rider. Students rave over the thoroughness of the teaching, and even years later recall “Courtneyisms” they were given in lessons.
